Looking for outdoor fun, helping your community and getting prepared for life?

You've come to the right place!  For more than 60 years, West Hartford's BSA Troop 146 has been helping to prepare our youth to achieve in life.

Our active outdoor program challenges our scouts while our various merit badgeprograms teach valuable skills and competencies.

We are a "Boy Lead" troop, having most of the troop's meetings coordinated by the Senior Patrol Leader and the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.  Each patrol of 7 to 10 scouts has a Patrol Leader, an Assistant Patrol Leader and a Patrol Quartermaster. Older scouts generally serve as Troop Guides and assist younger scouts with learning new skills, completing requirements and rank advancement.

We are very lucky to have a group of supportive and involved adult staff to assist the boys in their endeavors:

  • Scoutmaster Ron Ward
  • Assistant Scoutmaster Nate Przysiecki
  • Assistant Scoutmaster David Froman
  • Assistant Scoutmaster Bruce Russell
  • Assistant Scoutmaster Heidi-Anne Mooney
  • Troop Committee Chair Ed Macdonald

Several parents volunteer in various capacities including Merit Badge Counselors, Fundraising Coordinators, Troop Committee Members and Summer Camp Coordinators.

We meet at the West Hartford United Methodist Church on New Britain Avenue on Thursday evenings from 7:15 to 8:30 PM.

Our scouting year corresponds to the local school calendar however we do schedule some of our high adventure activities during the summer months. Please check the Calendar page for our current schedule of meetings and events.
